The two draws from the games against Philippines has put Malaysia further down in the FIFA world rankings
Malaysia’s mission to improve their ranking from recent friendly games against the Philippines has proved fruitless as they have dropped another three spots in the latest FIFA rankings.
In the latest rankings Malaysia are now in 145th spot, dropping three spots from 142nd position last month, after the two games against the Philippines ended with draws.
With this position, Malaysia are now among teams such as Kyrgyzstan (146), Puerto Rico (149) and Belize (144).
In the South East Asia region, Malaysia are still behind Vietnam (116), Philippines (140) and Thailand (143), but in front of rivals Singapore (147) and Indonesia (152).
In Asia, Malaysia rank 23rd from 46 Asian countries in the rankings. There are no changes at the top amongst Asian countries, with Iran leading the pack at 37th spot, Japan in 47th and Uzbekistan in 53rd.
At the top of the table, European and World Champions Spain are still on top, followed by other European giants Germany and Portugal, at second and third respectively.
2014 World Cup hosts Brazil also improved their ranking, moving up two spots from 6th to 4th, jumping above fellow South American teams Colombia (5th) Uruguay (6th) and also Argentina (7th).
